Location, just next to Puerta del Sol, restaurants, shops, open till late at night, metro stations nearby (Sol/Opera), walking distance to many sightseeing spots (Prado, etc). Good price. Room cleaned every day, friendly staffs, this is my second stay and will book here for next visit, too.
Small elevator of building, I prefer use stairs up to 3rd floor. Noisy outside but hostal is located in town center so acceptale.
Fantastic location at the heart of Madrid! You step out of the hostal and you are at Puerta del Sol. The place is simple, but clean, with plenty of light, and very cosy. The structure of the hostal gives a home- feeling. Very friendly personnel. Nice historic building with an old caged elevator. I was very pleased about the stay.
the air-cond in my room didn't work properly, so it was rather stuffy
The location is fantastic
The street outside can be a bit noisy, but thats what you get with location. Didn't bother us.
Great location and clean room. We had a huge room with a great view of the main street
Our friends had a very small room even though they paid the same rate
The Good: Excellent location and very clean.
The Bad: Screaming children and less than cordial staff. The Ugly: The most horrible wifi connection ever - more than five minutes online was a good thing.
The location of Hostal Aresol is brilliant, just a short walk from most of the sights. The rooms (although our's was tiny) were very clean and were serviced daily. The hostal was a bit noisy as other people were coming and going on the Saturday night but the rest of the time it was quiet. The air conditioning was very efficient and welcomed!
The finger-print method of entering the hostal was a bit tempremental; I had to try several times each time I was entering either the main door or the bedroom door. The size of the rooms differed hugely; our room was basically just big enough to contain the bed however the friends that we travelled with had a huge suite and we both paid the same amount.
We had a small room at the back of the building calm and very clean.they where cleaning every day.the owner was helpful and friendly.the location is excellent.1-2 Minutes from sol metro, central square of madrid.it was safe and you couldnt be afraid of going inside.good value for money.if I visit madrid again I could absolutely choose this hotel.
It is very near the metro station and within walking distance to all major attractions and shopping district.
The staff are not very hospitable.
Very good location.
Hard to find, even is on main street, At night, it was sometimes loud from the street, but can be worse ;-)
Central location, clean.
One of the staff is very rude. When I first arrive the hostal, the staff just open the door rudely, without saying anything and then go away. And I was just standing at the recpetion stupidly for a few mins. Then a lady came and helped me to check in, also she is not that friendly. Overall, the staffs are very bad, cannot speak english, there is always no person at the reception. I will not recommand this hostal, because if you prefer to find a central, clean and good value hostal in Madrid, there are many other good choices. No need to choose this hostal to suffer their bad services and attitudes.
Location, Friendly Staff, Wi-Fi, Privacy
Hotel located near Cortes Ingles. During night too much noise because of people going out and sounds of deliveries to Cortes Ingles. Not really the place if you want to enjoy a good night rest.
The room is not big, but it is very clean and you can feel that it is very clean. The room is very comfortable and they will clean it very day. The location is 1-2 minutes walk from the sol metro station, it is very closed to the Palace and lots of good cafe and resturant can be found in 5 minutes walk. Extremely good experience
The only thing I can complaints is the WiFi is not very stable and sometimes you need to reconnect to make it work
The room was fine and the place is full of character. My room overlooked the back of El Corte Ingles but at least it was quiet. However I could not find the hostal when I emerged from the metro and walked up and down the street asking at other hotels until I came across a tiny name plaque on a door. It is on the third floor (there is a rather scary cage lift) of an apartment block and they give you a key for the main door and you have to make a fingerprint on a pad so that you can get into your room. I had problems with this and so they gave me a key card. The difficulty in getting in and out of the building/room meant that I stayed out as long as I could. The location is excellent, very central.
Messing around with a stiff key to get in and out of the building. I probably wouldn't stay here again but I would recommend it for it's location and rate.
